Solar Homes Tour

Join more than 60,000 people across the country, including thousands throughout Northern California, to experience solar energy technology firsthand by touring homes with solar eneryg. Homeowners demonstrate how solar technology works, what it costs, and why it makes environmental and financial sense. System designers and contractors are available at most sites to answer questions. The tour sites showcase a variety of solar options and energy efficiency measures.

The Santa Rosa, San Francisco, and San Jose tours are all featuring electric and biodiesel vehicles in addition to solar technology. There is a growing number of "EV-PV" (Electric Vehicle Homes powered by Photovoltaics) households in the Bay Area, and many are featured on the tour. CCEnergy also exhibited for the expo's duration. Nations, regions, private enterprises, independent citizens, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), and volunteers came together in this vast gathering centered around the theme "Nature's Wisdom." More than 120 countries from five continents displayed a wide range of cultural legacy and artistic beauty. EXPO 2005 was designed to promote dialogue among world intellectuals addressing environmental, energy, population, urban development, and other areas of global concern through various seminars and symposia.
